Around The World In 8 Jumps!

Today we were learning about Google Earth with Michelle. We created a project that had a few guidelines of countries we had to go to including one in each continent. We also had to give an explanation of why we chose the places we chose. My favourite place I chose was Bondi beach in Australia because I have an actual photo of me and my cousins there. Next time I am going to give a bit more description to the places. Have you made a project on google earth? Blog to you later!

Be Super SMART!

Today in Toroa we were learning about how to respond to unkind messages that people send us. So we watched a few videos on a slideshow and we created an infographic with a template of our choice. My favourite part was choosing the images. I found it challenging to keep everything on the same page. I learnt a new place to find images. Have you made an infographic before?

Neat Notan Art

Today we have been learning about copyright. We learnt that every time you click on a copyrighted images copyright applies automatically, this happens so it is fair for everyone. To show the we created a image on google draw called Notan. It is a type of art form using negative and positive spaces from Japan. I enjoyed choosing the shapes. I found it difficult to flip the shapes over. I learnt how to use the curve tool. Have you heard of Notan art?

Precious Pepeha

At school we have been learning about our pepeha and what each part means. We have also been writing our own pepeha and finding out where our ancestors are from. I learned how to say grandma in Māori (Kuia) and how to introduce my grandparents on both sides. I have really enjoyed learning about my pepeha. I found it hard to memorise mine. Do you know your Pepeha?

Here is mine!

Magical Media

Today we have been learning about media with Michelle. We did a survey based on what media we used the most. I personally use reading the most because I read every night before I go to sleep. I found it challenging to choose the shape to use as my background. My favourite part was choosing the colours of the words I used. Next time I would make the words bigger. Have you used word art before?

100 Word Challenge Dogs VS Cats

Today we have been creating a 1oo word challenge on Dogs Vs Cats. A 100 word challenge is where you write a story and you have to have exactly 100 words. I personally like dogs way more because I think they are incredible pets to live with. Do you like cats or dogs more? The link to my story is down below!

Magnificent Matariki Stars

We have created Matariki art using google draw. My favourite part was making the stars with shapes. The challenging part was to use the polyline tool to create the mountains. I used gradient for my colours so it got lighter and darker. Next time I would add more detail to the moon so it has more detail to it. Matariki is the Māori new year that is why we celebrate it. Do you know about Matariki? I hope you enjoyed this blog post Ka Kite!

My Terrific Te Reo Slide

This is my Te Reo slide it’s about weather. We got asked to create this based on a thing we have been learning on a online Te Reo class we do. The most challenging part was doing the audios. But over all I am really happy with my slide. My favourite slide is the raining one because the rubber duck is super cute. Do you know how to ask what the weather is in Te Reo Māori?

Creative comments

Today we have been learning about good blog comments. We had a google drawing with comments on it and you and your buddy had to decide whether they were good comments or bad comments. I learnt about different types of comments and how to make a good comment. Next time I am going to read the instructions better. What do you think makes a good comment?

My Perfect Pick a Path

Today with Michelle we were learning about sharing information online and having a smart digital footprint. I decided to make a pick a path. I learnt how to insert links onto images. My favourite part was writing all the questions that people could chose from. Next time I am going to add more questions. Have you ever made a pick a path?
