My Silhouette Art!

For todays post I did the silhouette kick start art activity! I used this image of my dog (Maggie) because it looks really cool as a silhouette. This was a step by step task the fist step was removing the background off your image, then you went onto the slide that you made a copy of, put the removed background image on the slide and go onto format options choose the darkest black, then you turn the brightness right down so you don’t see the details and finally you choose your sunset and order move it to back and you have made your silhouette art! The image you choose could be anything, you and your family or a selfie of you and your friends, it’s up to you! My favourite part was deciding what sunset I was going to use. I found it hard to make my silhouette dark enough so you couldn’t see the details. Have you ever seen a real sunset, and if so where? Blog to you later!

Wicked Winter!

Today I also did the winter holiday 101 kickstart challenge. The activities I chose was skiing because I have never been skiing before and the other activity was a polar bear place in Sweden which I thought would be awesome to see! I love my cozy cabin because it looks super small but nice and warm!  In my supplies I bought a puffer jacket, track pants, ski googles for my ski trip, warm boots, gloves and an oodie to sit around in my cabin so I stay warm.  Next time I think I would need different supplies like a warm hat and a long sleeve top. A holiday destination I would like to visit is Paris because a dream on mine has been to see the Eiffel tower. Where do you want to go on holiday? That’s today’s blog post, blog to you later!

Sunny Summer!

Today I did the summer holiday 101 step it up task. I enjoyed finding the activities I would do and I ended up choosing snorkling and the cool Fiji braids. All my equipment was packed for warm weather like the short sleeve top and shorts was so I won’t get hot, jandals so I won’t get burnt feet, togs for when I go snorkling and swimming, toothbrush and toothpaste to brush my teeth and finally sunscreen to protect my skin from getting burnt. I found it tricky to find a photo of Fiji I liked. Next time I think I would choose a different place and different activities. My favourite activity to do while i’m on holiday is to try different foods the the restaurants serve because some foods I would have never tried before and it’s always good to try something new!  What’s your favourite place you’ve been on holiday? Thanks for reading todays blog post, blog to you later!

Perfect Postcard!

Today I did the step it up poem postcard challenge! I chose the place cairns Australia because earlier this year we went to Cairns for our family holiday in Aussie. Where have you and your family been on holiday? The picture I used was fun to recreate with the polyline tool but also sort of difficult. I struggled with the poem so I tried 3 different types but I thought this one was the best! This task took me awhile because I wanted to make sure I got all of the details I my postcard and i’m really happy with the results. This would be a great place to visit because it’s warm so at every hotel pretty much there is a pool and you can go to the great barrier reef which is incredible! I would take my Mum, Dad, Aunty Steph, My 2 sisters and my friend Meadow and her dad. If you were going on a trip who would you take? I found this task fun and challenging but mainly fun! That’s it for todays blog post, blog to you later!

Talented Tessellations

Kia ora blog readers today I created a tessellation. Tessellations are a pattern with no gaps or overlapping and it is to cover a space. Their are 3 different types of tessellations, 1 is a regular tessellation which is 1 shape put into some sort of pattern, 2 is a semi regular tessellation which is formed by 2 or more types of regular polygon each with the same side and 3 is a irregular tessellation which is partitions of space mutually distinct cells. My tessellation is a regular tessellation I think. I found it tricky to drag them close enough together so the didn’t have any gaps. Next time I think I would go for a more difficult pattern and chose different shapes. I really like the colour I chose though because they are pretty pastel colours. What’s your favourite colour? I found this task very fun and different because I’ve never done a task like this before. If you have any feedback please let me know. I hope you enjoyed this blog post, blog to you later!

My Floral Plane

Kia ora, today I did the build a plane kick start challenge. I created my plane by using a hydrangea and a cereal box! I really enjoyed making my own plane I found it fun and entertaining. I called it floral plane well that’s pretty obvious, it has flowers covering it! What’s your favourite flower? I found it fun to find recycled materials around my house so that they could be reused. The plane was simple to make all you had to do was cut 2 outlines of a plane glue them together and then make the wings, you also can’t forget to add your own decorations! This was a very fun task and I look forward to doing other SLJ (summer learning journey) challenges! I hope you enjoyed todays blog post and have a go at making a recycled plane!

I called it ping pong punishment because in every cup their is a different punishments! I really enjoyed doing this task because I found it fun but challenging because this was the 3rd game I tried! My favourite part was battling with my sister which unfortunately she won! But it was a good game to play on a rainy day like it is here today! What is your favourite thing to do on a rainy day? Next time I think I would add more punishments because today there were only 4 in this game. Please let me know if the links don’t work because i’m not sure if they will. Spongebob’s Under The Sea Adventure!

Hey blog readers, today I did the under the sea kick start task. I choose the turtle aas one of my sea creatures because I think turtles a very fascinating creatures and i’ve always wanted to swim with one and I choose the  tingray because I the they are very cool and big animals. On our family trip to Australia we got to pat stingrays at sea world and they LOVED pats! I also choose Spongebob because under the sea reminded me of him so I thought he could also be in my animation. My favourite part was deciding what was going to happen so I could move my characters so it would come together. Next time I think I would use different sea creatures. I personally love going swimming I think it is so fun! Where’s your favourite place to go swimming? Thanks for reading todays blog post, I’ll blog to you later!

My Beautiful Bug Profile

Today I did the bug of the year step it up task. I chose the common tussock butterfly because the orange wings were noticeable to me when I was searching for my bug. I learnt that even bugs that bite or look yuck actually help us humans with different things. My favourite part was getting to find my bug because there were so many of them to choose from. The part I found tricky was getting all the information but as a result of that I learnt a lot about my bug. Next time I think I would choose a different bug like a  type of ant or spider. Whats your favourite insect? I hope you enjoyed todays blog post, blog to you later!

Viola the Bird

Today I had a go at Viola the Bird. I enjoyed this task because it was fun to make my own music. My song reminds me of opera because of the sound the instrument made. Ode to joy is an ode (song) written in the summer of 1784 by a German poet, playwright, and historian (Friedrich Schiller).  I enjoyed learning about what an ode was because at first I wasn’t sure but now I no it’s a poem that is meant to be sung. I think I could have made a better song on Viola the Bird but I enjoyed experimenting the different sounds it made. Do you play a instrument? Thank for reading todays blog post, blog to you Later!
